Complete the following tasks:
Task One: Finish filling in your Roald Dahl family tree. You can find the PPT presentation under the section 'Starting Point' and under the sub-heading 'Mama and Papa'. The PPT is the second document under this heading
Task Two: Answer Questions 1 and 2 on the PPT slide entitled 'Further Thinking' (the slide after the Roald Dahl Family Tree). For question 1, I want you to write answers for all 4 quotes. When writing your answers, make sure you use the PEE structure. Make a point (i.e. what key thing does the quote tell us about his father. Give the quote as supporting evidence and then try and explain the quote further by giving more details about what the quote suggests about the type of man Roald Dahl's father was.

Write the blurb for your own autobiography. Look at the length of the blurb on the Powerpoint slide and aim for approximately the same amount of words (50-60). Remember, the point of the blurb on the back of the book is to sell the book. Therefore, you will need to sell the story of your life to potential readers. What details will you include? How will you grab the reader's interest and make them excited about reading your book? What life stories will you include?? Remember to write about yourself in the Third Person!! Refer to the PPT called 'Boy - The Blurb' on the Unit 2 page of the Y7 Weebly. It is the fourth document under the sub-heading, 'An Introduction to Boy', which can be found under the green heading Introductory Activities' heading.

Rehearse your presentations. Remember to consider the following details:

- Speak clearly, loudly and confidently (don't use fillers - 'erm', 'err', 'like', 'kind of', 'sort of', 'you know' and 'yeah'. Also, speak accurately.
- Rehearsal
- Presenting versus reading
- Introduce and conclude the presentation.
- Try to maintain eye contact
- Don't use a script, only use cue cards with bullet points of the key things you want to say and remember your transitions on your cue cards to introduce each part of your presentation and the speaker.
- Body Language - try not to fidget - stay confident!
